Ep10: The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club – Getting Ladies into Clay & Game Shooting, Pheasant Hunting in the US

In this episode of The Country Gent Podcast we chat with Victoria Knowles-Lacks, the founder of The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club.

6 years ago, Victoria decided to quit her day job and go full time with her quest to get more women into shooting. To date, her organisation The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club has introduced over 10,000 women to shooting sports.

With around 1,000 members, the S&CBC run clay and game shooting events across the country, host an annual conference and also run the Ladies National Shooting Day.

We discuss her background, what the triggers were for starting the club, how it’s got to the size that is has, what a typical day now looks like, what the future holds and much much more.

As well as talking about the club, we also discuss:

  • Her recent hunting trip to the USA
  • How vital shooting organisations are to the future of the industry
  • Positivity on social media

To find out more about the S&CBC, visit their website or follow them on social media – Facebook & Twitter.

As mentioned in the episode, if you’re looking to improve your clay or game shooting, get our free ebook – The Fundamental Building Blocks of Successful Shotgun Shooting.

The boots we have on test at the moment are the Meindl Dovre Extreme GTX from Raygill Clothing. We’ll be putting these through their paces over the winter and a full review will be published on the site in the new year. If you’re in the market for a premium pair of boots for your shooting or any other outdoor activity, initial impressions of these are great so they’re definitely worth a look.

The Malt of the Month is the Aberlour 10 – a great value and readily available whisky. It’s available from most supermarkets or you can buy it online.

Enjoy the show.
